Haiti

estimate
the number of dead
the tears

Anywhere from 50,000 to 500,000, according to this morning's news, with 3 million in desperate straits.

This was first posted earlier today at Gillena's blog.

_My wife and I have close friends here, Haiti... their homeland. As yet there has been no contact between them and elderly family members that remain in Haiti. Our heart felt prayers to all.

Excellent one, Bill. (Very difficult to put words on this devastating experience).

Really helps to put this thing in perspective.

If anyone feels like helping, a friend of mine is there with food, meds, and hope.

The images of Haiti as viewed on the BBC and CNN haunt my mind. I fear what will happen if there is an earthquake and I, or any of my dear ones, am lying under the rubble. I feel so restless even in normal time... From a distance of oceans, I can only pray for the suffering Haitians.
