Water and shadow - two of my favourite things! Both work together to reinforce the sense of chill from the first line. Well done.
Ooo... like this Bill. But please excuse me for that bit of humor I see here: "Is it necessary at some point to 'wring-out' your shadow"?_m
I always see shadows as eerie alter egos. Love it!
I like to observe shadows!
