my son changes
his daughter's diaper
autumn evening
[First published in Ambrosia]
Ambrosia is a new haiku journal, available both online and in print. You can access the complete contents of the first issue by clicking on "Ambrosia," under "Other Good Sites" to the left.
This haiku was actually drafted about a year ago. Michelle, my first grandchild, was born August 9, 2007. But now, an autumn later, my son still changes her diaper, sometimes with an assist from grandpa.
