Oh, this captures it so well!
having 4 children, I can't imagine the life of a child alone. (much less the life of a parent with only one child :) )
A bunch said in these three lines. Excellent bill!!
Thanks Aurora, Vaughn, Andrew, and Pat. My wife was an only child. I was a lonely child.
i'm not an only child but this resonates with me...
Thanks, Polona. That's good to hear.
I am one of eight and still it resonates.
That's good to know, anonymous.
oh yes
Thanks, flots.
Oops, I mean floots.
At first sight, I thought that "only child" is the key, the "pillar" of the poem. After I saw the version on WHCworkshop, I understand "playing catch" is the magic word. Any other game would be insignificant.A stunning poem!Thank you for sharing.
In my childhood there were quite many friends all over, and I remember that sometimes I wanted to be alone, only with myself!
Thanks, dana-maria. I did a lot of playing catch with myself as a child, even though I wasn't an only child.Right, tikkis. We're complicated animals.
Bill,I like this one a lot. That's how my childhood felt at times, once my older brother left for college. And thanks for the lovely feedback on my blog last week.kami

Right, tikkis. We're complicated animals.
Bill,
I like this one a lot. That's how my childhood felt at times, once my older brother left for college.
And thanks for the lovely feedback on my blog last week.
