On February 26 five years ago Trayvon Martin, an African-American teenager was shot to death by George Zimmerman. Zimmerman was acquitted of all charges. Although the recently developed "stand your ground" defense was not used on Zimmerman's behalf in his trial, it was a common theme of his apologists in the months following the killing. But it was Trayvon who stood his ground. And it got him killed.
