childhood home
not as tall as
I used to be

I have to admit that I don't get it : normally, we would think you might have said

childhood home
not as tall as
it used too be

but now...

did you shrink ?

Would you please explain it to the particularly slow one of me ?

Actually, Monika, Yes, I did. A little shrinkage often comes with age. But I did hope that readers would be put in mind, by contrast, of the common experience that everything from your childhood is smaller than you remember it. Thanks for the visit.
