I know we don't REALLY know eachother...but after reading this, I am fairly certain that we would be friends if I lived in New York. :) This makes me smile, Bill. Love it!
Anon, I don't follow baseball. I became disillusioned when the Braves left Boston, long before you were born. Artificial turf, designated hitters, strikes, steroids, interleague play, and the reduction of the World Series to the last round of a playoff, for which you can qualify as a "wild card," have all been nails in the coffin, as far as I'm concerned.

Thanks, everyone. Any excuse for a party is what I say.
Happy Halloween!
Obviously, your companions are not as erudite as you. : )
Same to you, Angelika.
Anon, they just may not see me as the great lover type.
Bill,
Thanks for the great haiku you left on my "Fall" piece -- always much appreciated.
Shouldn't you be watching the World Series, BTW?
