Andrew, my view is that one's wife should never think she is seen only as the Mother of One's Children. That's the sort of treatment that may lead to the kind of behavior alluded to in the other two "Mother's Day" senryu.

Does Slovenia have anything like this, polona? It is, of course, essentially a marketing ploy here.

well, march 8, the international women's day was much valued here in the past but attempts were made to replace it with march 25 (i think) as mother's day but without much success. in the last couple of years, march 8 is again gaining in value.
