down sunlit rocks

Niagara falls? Or somewhere near the Hudson River?

anon: it's really an archetypal waterfall, rather than a particular one. I wrote this for a kukai (competition) in which "waterfall" was the assigned kigo (season word: waterfall indicates summer in haiku tradition). I drew on my memory of waterfalls. The haiku took third place, by the way.
