Loved it! So much in a small space. Natural observation, humour, religion, irony - they are all in there but I'm left with with a clear visual picture which is both macro and panorama. (I've said it to you before, I know, but I bet you knew this was a "goodie" even as you wrote it.) Cheers

Thanks, Floots. Yeah, this one felt right once I let myself let "sparrow" stand alone in the second line. I appreciate your response especially because I think you articulate just about exactly what I hoped readers would find in the poem.

I love sparrows, they always seem like something serene -- hopping about, non too disruptive chirps.

anon and liz: Interesting you both find a note of serenity in this image. I didn't put a label on what I saw in it, but serenity was certainly part of it.
