When I raised my eyes, I realized I was looking at the moon, which was visible at 1:10 pm EDT, or just about high noon (midday) according to standard time. It was a dramatic, unusual, and beautiful sight, which I would have missed if being tired of waiting hadn't led me to sigh and raise my eyes. This actually happened today; I wrote the piece immediately. It didn't get posted for a while because the person I was waiting for showed up, and I had to deal with him.

I don't understand the "moon at midday" line.
