I like that. Nice flashback for those of us seasoned enough.
I know a little about haiku, don't know what a senryu is, but I like short poetry, so I'm enjoying your site.

Welcome aboard, a. decker. Senryu is a kind of poem formally identical to haiku but focusing on human, especially social, interaction, often in a humorous, ironic, and/or satirical tone; alternatively, the emphasis may be on pathos. Books like the popular "Haikus for Jews" and others like it are, in strict terms, collections of senryu rather than haiku.

Ed, I'll be in touch. Meanwhile, I'll get my Lone Ranger decoder ring out. I've got as far as hgh.

bill,
this letter poem approaches the topic from two distinct angles...

1. the shady world of performance enhancers, those that can't be detected, "designer steroids" etc,
thus the use of letters rather than words.

2. babe ruth basically "saved" baseball after chicago threw the 1919 series. in the "universe " of
baseball, the babe is christ's equal, thus the play on the
WWJD? bracelets.

Sad but true. Maybe now guys like Jim Rice will get into the Hall of Fame, the old fashioned way.
