got that loose feeling them gendai (modern) verses over at blue willow is known for. I figure the trick is not just write "modern Lit" rehashed, or rely on anthropomorphism or surreal notions. Has to say something, or feel something as ol' JEC might profess to: "if it sounds right, it is right!"

He drank a lot of Sunshine, too. That brew made in that Lancashire joint he used to haunt, I mean. Wasted on me. I was stuck on whether the place was a bar or a tavern. He took that secret to the grave ...

Mama used to say , "inexplicable is as inexplicable does." Din' yor'n?

An honest to goodness allusion don't hurt none, neither. ;-]
