I like this one, Bill - but it isn't easy to translate in French. Okay, I'll give it a try :

baiser de minuit
je fais encore des promesses
à moi-même

or

baiser de minuit
je continue à faire des promesses
à moi-même

glad it reached you, doug.

thanks, Monika. I like your translations. In this case, I think I prefer the "je fais encore" version, partly because "encore" is a word of more than one meaning.

Don't we all? We feel we must keep promises made to others, but not to ourselves. Why is that?

glad I make you laugh, Monika, but where did you find this one? I wrote it, but I don't remember posting it, and certainly not here. I will now, though.

Never mind, Bill... (me neither...! ) ;-) By the way, we both know : getting older is the only way they found not to die young !

...enlightenment... how about:

midnight cloud
kissing
an enlightened moon

? :-)?

As they say, Monika and Daniele, consider the alternative.

Tikkis

kissing a cloud
as it passes . . .
moonlight
