I must admit, not being a soccer fan or much of a fan of any sport, I didn't appreciate this upon 1st reading. Now that I've made the connection, I see that it works, and quite well.
Thanks Cindy (good to meet you), Monika, Doug, and Adelaide. Looks like the way the ball bounces may emerge as one of the major issues of this year's World Cup. Complaints about the ball's behavior, it's been noted, are coming from the winners as well as the losers. To his credit, though, the British goalkeeper who allowed the American goal has made no excuses for himself. That's class.
