Thanks aurora, gautami, and polona. My favorite route home from school when I was a kid took me along the Charles River in Watertown MA, and I especially liked it on a rainy day.

Thanks, andrew. It also occurred to me that, like the rain, the visitor comes and goes, while, like the river, the home place endures.

Thanks Vaughn, Pat, and Kara. As I've suggested, this one has a lot of personal meaning for me. I'm glad it says something to you.

Thanks, floots. And what an illuminating enumeration of the qualities of a successful ku.
