bill, your poems are very good. your comment on dustin's website seems to overlook the self righteous nature of his poem. masturbation is every bit as natural as drawing breath.
the lord's prayer i keep my mind on the woman beside me
Thanks, gabi, for your poem and for the link. This particular Zen garden is within the Japanese Friendship Garden in Balboa Park, San Diego, California, which we visited in February.
Thanks, Pat. One constant theme of haiku, in my view is "Listen to the silence"--or, more precisely, "Listen to the silences."
Thanks, prado. In my comment to dustin, I spoke as a formalist, if you will, rather than as a moralist. Thus, I referred to an aspect of the poem as "facile." But I think you and I are using different terminology to talk about very much the same thing. Don't know about "natural as breathing," though. I was breathing when I was a day old. On the other hand . . .
this is the perfect representation of the natural stillness which i love amazing and made even more so beacause i sense you in the background smiling at yourself when you read it
