Did you write to the editor?

Thanks for stopping by my site and your provocative question re "genius." I have posted a response for you.

I often do, usually on the kind of political issues that have no place on this blog. I was most recently published in the New York Times for April 26. And I blush to admit that on that day (I'd been advised the letter was scheduled to appear) the front page had to wait.

I love your senryu which carry a sense of wry, self-deprecation. (Looking at it again that sounds more like a perversion than a comment on literary style!) Reading your reply to Anonymous Poet, I see that the word "letters" was meant literally: I had also taken it to be an obituary column/mortality reference. Amazing what one find in seventeen syllables!

Hi Floots. As I said to AP in a message at his blog, intention is between the poet and the poem; meaning is between the poem and the reader.
